Newsprinters Ltd (whose parent company is News International Ltd), is now in full production at Eurocentral. The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times are all printed at the Eurocentral site.

There are approx 150 employees working on site, which is a 24 hour/365 days a year operation.

Morrisons

William Morrison Supermarkets Plc. took the former NCR building in April in 2005. It is 131,060 sq ft and has been leased for a five year period.

Morrisons is using the premises for the distribution of chilled produce and the attraction of the building was the location, size and availability of multiple docks. The company has extended the yard area and the building is now being used on a very intensive basis.

Headlam

Headlam Group is Europe’s biggest floorcovering distributor and has been based at Eurocentral since 1997.  Following successful business expansion in 2003, Headlam now occupies a total 60,000 sq.ft of warehousing with an eaves height of 12 metres.

DHL Freight

Opened in September 1996, this 81,500 sq ft freight centre was built for Securicor/Scottish Express and boasts 42 loading bays, including two deep bays where forklift trucks can access the lorry from all sides. On site, the company has its own garage for repair of vehicles from all parts of the Group. Taken over in 2003 by Deutsche Post World Net, the facility now operates as DHL Freight.

Wincanton

Logistics giant P&O Trans European, now Wincanton, moved into Eurocentral's appropriately named Colossus unit in January 2001 and in January 2002, following the successful expansion of their business, also took the identical Colossus II facility.

The 'advance-build' Colossus units are 94,000 sq ft state-of-the-art distribution facilities incorporating office accommodation, ten dock-leveller and four drive-in doors, generous yard and parking areas and an eaves height of 12 metres.

TRAC International

TRAC International, a leading supplier of specialist engineering services, has expanded its business operation and established a new site at Eurocentral.

The company moved into the 41,000 sq ft Athena building in autumn 2008.

With existing bases in Bellshill, Aberdeen, Chesterfield and Bristol, the letting marks a considerable expansion for the business and the facility will create new jobs.

Leading national express delivery company Target Worldwide Express moved its Lanarkshire based depot from Bellshill to a modern, purpose built facility at Eurocentral in November 2002.

Target's premises consist of a 40,000 sq ft distribution facility with five per cent office accommodation.

Following the Company's takeover in 2007, the facility now operates as City Link.

Scottish and Southern Energy

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) is a leading electricity and gas company, operating mainly in the UK and Ireland.

Sheffield Insulations Group

Sheffield Insulations Group (SIG plc), the international supplier of specialist insulations, opened their new 71,900 sq ft distribution facility in 2006.

William McMahon, director general manager at Sheffield Insulations Group said: "Our new premises at Eurocentral provide the ideal location for us and we now benefit from the immediate access to the national motorway network system. The increased efficiencies that this offers will help us maintain our position as a leading distributor in the UK and Europe."

Developed by EPL the 71,900 sq ft distribution centre is built to a high standard incorporating four drive-in roller doors, 10m eaves, a large trade counter area with ample parking and dedicated internal offices.

Consarc

Consarc Engineering Limited, a global leader in the supply of vacuum and controlled atmosphere heating and melting equipment, established their new manufacturing and assembly site at Eurocentral in autumn 2007.

All Consarc systems are products of an integrated in-house design and manufacturing capability; in addition to a recognised range of standard products, Consarc have considerable experience in supplying highly specialised bespoke products.

Warburtons

Warburtons, the UK's largest independent baking business and the leading supplier of wrapped bread in Scotland, is expanding its operation North of the Border with the creation of a new purpose built distribution depot at Eurocentral.

Ian Connell, Warburtons General Manager Scotland, said: "Such has been the scale of our success in Scotland that we have outgrown the distribution facility attached to our bakery in Bellshill.

"The 20,000 sq ft facility at Eurocentral allows us to add 40 new delivery routes to the 55 already serviced from our Bellshill plant. Some staff will transfer the short distance from Bellshill to Eurocentral and we will be recruiting additional staff to service the new distribution routes," he said.

The Eurocentral development will permit the baker to expand its geographical reach in Scotland. Currently Warburtons delivers daily bread across Scotland from Aberdeen and the Highlands and Islands in the North to Stranraer in the South.

Having agreed terms on this purpose built facility in September 2007, the new unit will be completed in April 2008.

Lathams

The UK’s leading timber and panel products distributor, James Latham has established its first Scottish site at Eurocentral. The company, which recently celebrated its 250th year in business, has moved into the 40,000 sq ft Pharos unit.

Latham is using the highly specified warehousing and distribution facility, which is part of Eurocentral’s Advance Build programme, to extend its distribution reach and further develop its Scottish market. 

The company now has a total of 10 sites covering the UK, and the new Eurocentral facility will create new jobs and provide the distributor with superb access to key areas in Scotland.

David Landsburgh, Lathams’ Scotland site manager said: “In 2007 James Latham celebrated its 250th year in business, a proud boast in any industry. It is a highly respected brand both here in Scotland as well as south of the border and the decision to open its first site outside England here in Lanarkshire reflects just how important this market is to us.”

Mersen Scotland Ltd (Fomerly Calcarb)

Leading manufacturer and global supplier of high quality carbon relocated its world headquarters to the Eurocentral in 2008.
The move marked a considerable expansion for the business which relocated from its existing premises in Bellshill, creating 30 new jobs. The organisation now employs over 110 people on site and has plans to create further positions. 
Hugh McLeod, managing director said: “This is a significant move for the company and is part of our longer term expansion programme. We have more than doubled our production since moving to Eurocentral as the new facility enabled us to increase our workforce and invest in additional state-of-the-art equipment.
“One of the key factors for moving to Eurocentral was its location, as is it not far from our previous premises and allowed us to retain the services of our workforce, who are highly skilled and live in the local area, in addition to greatly improving our access to the UK roads network.”

Wincanton Records Management

A European leader in design and delivery of supply chain solutions, Wincanton showed its commitment to the Eurocentral location when it took a 15-year lease on the 53,434 sq ft Apollo building in 2008.  

The facility will set new standards for managing information within Scotland, which will be used primarily to store a variety of documents and media, including reconnaissance photographs from the Second World War, for its client The National Archives.

Lightbody Group

Lightbody Group, a subsidiary of Finsbury Food Group, took occupation of the 71,700 sq.ft. Artemis building in August 2009. Lightbody Group, based in Hamilton and employing around 1,000 people, is the UK's leading supplier of celebration cakes to the UK multiples.

Martin Lightbody, chief executive of Finsbury Food Group, said: "The warehouse facility at Eurocentral will provide a new platform for our distribution network throughout the UK. Eurocentral's location works well for us, with its own junction on the M8, proximity to our main bakery in Hamilton and provides easy access for our customers.”
