Muse recognises that construction has direct and obvious impacts on the biological environment, and that we have the opportunity to do a great deal, not only to mitigate negative impacts, but also to protect and enhance bio diversity and to secure a sustainable environment.

These opportunities and the value derived from them will be enhanced if attention is paid to sustainability at the design stage of the development rather than treating it as an ‘end of pipe’ issue or as a ‘bolt on’.

Muse is constantly working towards continuous improvement in our operations. We have a full time team of Environmental Consultants who are available to input to the design and construction process offering advice on sustainability and environmental issues. In addition Muse has been accredited to the environmental standard of ISO1400. 

Buildings developed by Muse at Eurocentral are built to BREEAM ‘VERY GOOD’ rating as standard and are design engineered to allow a tenant to upgrade the rating to EXCELLENT if this meets the occupier’s objectives.

Consideration of more energy efficient solutions - including passive systems using natural light, air movement and thermal mass - has helped maximise the sustainability of our buildings.  Basic design - covering for example location, building orientation, door location, window design and the specification of the fabric - make significant contributions to lower energy consumption.
